The World Economic Forum at Davos by Private Jet

Since the founding of the World Economic Forum in 1971, world leaders and influencers have assembled each year with an ambitious mission: to improve the state of the world, and to do so through international cooperation and multicultural dialogue. The theme of the 47th meeting is ‘Responsive and Responsible Leadership’.

More than 25,000 participants are expected to attend the five-day event. In attendance last year were 40 heads of state including the U.K.'s David Cameron, Turkey's Ahmet Davutoğlu and France's Manuel Valls. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry represented the United States. Technology executives including Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg, Alibaba's Jack Ma and Hewlett Packard’s Meg Whitman were in attendance. A few civic-minded celebrities also made an appearance, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Bono.

And once the day’s work is done, the night gives way to a jam-packed schedule of glamorous parties. In addition to the many private dinner parties and wine tastings, corporate parties are the biggest social events of the week – some costing upwards of seven figures. Davos’ Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvedere alone hosts up to five to six parties per night. All this goes to say, there will be plenty of time for networking.

Davos is by invitation only and costs over $20,000 to attend. In addition, members of the World Economic Forum are required to pay annual dues. Those with a premium membership, which costs $500,000, have access to the most exclusive events at the forum. Some members of the government, the media and academia are able to attend for free.
