The MTV European Music Awards 2017

On Sunday November 12, 2017, singer and actress Rita Ora will host the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) at London’s SSE Wembley arena. The 24th annual mega-awards show returns to the UK for the sixth time, as London rejoins other recent UK host cities Edinburgh (2003), Liverpool (2008), Belfast (2011) and Glasgow (2014). The European incarnation of the MTV Music Awards is live streamed around the world, but why watch one of music's biggest events on the small screen when you can book a private jet charter to London and see the biggest names in music close-up?

London, a city of music

Throughout its history, the United Kingdom has produced some of the greatest music acts, singers and bands in the world. From Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse and Adele, the UK is a hub of musical talent. So it should come as no surprise that London has been selected to host the prestigious EMAs, an event which is synonymous with world-class performances. According to London Mayor Sadiq Khan, London is a natural choice due to the city’s “exceptional musical history, wealth of creative talent and outstanding venues”. The 2016 EMAs, held in The Netherlands, are a difficult show to top: hosted by Bebe Rexha, the Rotterdam-based event featured showstopping performances by Bruno Mars, Green Day, The Weeknd and Kings of Leon.

So far the 2017 EMAs have just one confirmed performer, host Rita Ora, but performances can be expected from top nominees including Taylor Swift (six nominations), Shawn Mendes (five), Kendrick Lamar (four) and Ed Sheeran (four). The most awards ever won by an artist at the EMAs is four, a record shared by Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. But that record could be broken this year by either Taylor Swift or Shawn Mendes.

The Hawker Beechcraft 800XP is the third generation of the 800 series, while the 850XP, an identical sister aircraft, has been modified to include winglets that allow for an extra 100-mile range.

Luxurious logistics

For a central airport, consider landing at London City or Heathrow. The largest airport in central London, Heathrow is an easy 45-minute drive from either The Ritz-Carlton or The Savoy (two of the city’s most luxurious and exclusive five-star hotels), themselves just a 45-minute drive from SSE Wembley arena and the EMAs.
