The Benton Field Airport is a public access airport owned by the city of Redding in California, and is located one mile west of it's central business district. The airport was named in honour of Lt. John W. Benton, an Army Air Corps pilot and a Shasta County resident who died in an airplane crash at Buenos Aires in 1927. The airport is small, covering only 80 acres, and has a single runway, with an asphalt surface, measuring in at 738 meters. The airport has approximately 122 aircraft based here ranging form single engine aircraft to helicopters.
