Fairbanks International Airport is a state-owned public-use airport located three miles southwest of the central business district of Fairbanks, a city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough in Alaska. The facility serves many cargo airlines as a convenient refueling stop for some aircraft on trans-polar routes. At 3,470 acres it is a large airport and has four runways available made mainly from asphalt but including gravel and ski strips. It is incredibly busy with an average of 365 flights per day and offers a full range of services.
