GRANT COUNTY AIRPORT
Grant County Airport is a county owned, public use airport in Grant County, New Mexico. The airport is mostly used for general aviation, but is also served by one commercial airline. Service is subsidized by the Essential Air Service program. Grant County Airport is a medium sized airport covering an area of 740 acres. Silver City was first served by Frontier Airlines in 1953 as a stop on the route from El Paso to Phoenix using the Douglas DC-3 aircraft.
