Formerly known as Bridgeport Municipal Airport, Igor I. Sikorsky Airport is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut and is owned by the city of Bridgeport. It lays three miles southeast of the town of Stratford.
It covers an area of 800 acres and has two asphalt paved runways. It was named for Igor Sikorsky, who selected Stratford as the site for his Sikorsky Aviation Corporation in 1929. Both presidents John F. Kennedy and George H.W. Bush have given speeches at this airport.
