It was originally established as Immokalee Army Airfield, activated on July 5, 1942 and assigned to United States Army Air Forces East Coast Training Center. It has two asphalt runways in service, which are both listed as being in good condition. On average, it carries out 100 flights per day and bases around 60 aircraft. The facility offers several services such as refueling, hangar storage and minor airframe repairs.
