Lincoln Airport is a public/military airport five miles northwest of downtown Lincoln, the state capital, in Lancaster County, Nebraska and is the second-largest airport in the state. It was previously known as Lincoln Municipal Airport. It supports three runways made from mixes of asphalt and concrete of which the primary regularly handles large airliners on charter flights by visiting college football teams which play the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The facility is an impressive 5000 acres and handles and average of 1366 flights per day.
