Los Alamos Airport, also known as Los Alamos County Airport, is a county owned, public use located one nautical mile east of the central business district of Los Alamos. It was built in 1947 by the Atomic Energy Commission as part of Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, but the federal government transferred the facility to county ownership in 2008. It covers only 89 acres and has a single asphalt runway which is listed as being in good condition. It carries out around 39 flights per day and bases around 54 aircraft. It offers some services such as refueling, tiedowns and minor airframe repairs.
