Lower Loon Creek Airport is situated 30 miles southwest of Challis, Lemhi County, Idaho. It is a public service facility located on 5 acres of land, and was activated in November 1992. It has one turf runway. Loon Creek Airport was formerly owned by J.R. Simplot, but is now owned by Idaho Fish & Game.

A wilderness campground can be found at the mouth of Loon Creek itself, but it often is occupied by rafters floating the Middle Fork. There is a wonderful hot springs about a mile upstream.
