Reading Regional Carl A Spaatz Field is a public airport three miles northwest of Reading, in Berks County and is perhaps more commonly known as ‘Carl A. Spaatz Field’. It is a large facility, covering around 888 acres of land and has two runways available. It is also a very busy facility and in 2006 carries out a total of 124,650 aircraft operations and averaging 341 flights per day. The airport has a long history beginning in 1943 with the 309th Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron hosted on site and it is still the site of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.
