The Wilbarger County Airport is a county owned, public use airport in Wilbarger County, Texas. The airport is located just under five miles north of the central business district of Vernon, Texas. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, this airport is categorized it as a general aviation facility. The airport was first activated on September 23, 1942 and was known as Vernon Airport. The facility conducted basic flying training until it was inactivated on March 31, 1945.
