It was classified as a general aviation facility and once went by the name of 'Willows-Glenn Airport'. It was once used as an auxiliary airfield for Chico Army Airfield but the Fourth Air Force declared the field excess to its needs in the 1940s. It covers around 320 acres of land and has two runways as well as a helipad. On average it runs 80 flights per day.
