Vermont is found in the north-eastern part of the United States of America, within the New England region, and is the second least populous state in the country. The state is found between Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Canada. The largest city in Vermont is Burlington, while the capital, Montpelier, has just under 8000 residents - which makes it the least populated capital in the country. The state is also the only one within the North England region that does not connect to the Atlantic Ocean.
