Leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, has shown its charitable side this year by raising in excess of £30,000 (€40,000 / $55,000) for charity. ACS’s Charity Committee holds various fund-raising events throughout the year and donates to a number of charities chosen by ACS employees. Activities such as quiz nights, parties and entry into The Great River Race have all helped reach the impressive amount. Each year the company choses three charities to which to donate - this year the vote went to London Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK and HEAL. Over the past two years ACS’s donations alone have paid for a new I.T. classroom and a new library for the HEAL orphanage and school in Andhra Pradesh, India. Company Secretary, Treasurer and head of the Charity Committee, Tina Leach’ said: “I was fortunate enough to visit the village of Andhra Pradesh last year to witness first hand what our fund raising was helping to build. I was so touched to see what a difference we could make.”
