Air Charter Service responds to disaster close to home

In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, Air Charter Service has been busy arranging aircraft charters to provide vital support to thousands of New Yorkers trying get their lives back to normal. Air Charter Service responds to disaster close to home

Sandy’s storm surge hit New York City on October 29th, flooding streets, tunnels and subway lines, as well as cutting power in and around the city, affecting millions of lives.

Last week Air Charter Service’s New York office arranged 2 charters for an electrical supplier in Texas to move emergency transformers to restore power to the Westchester area of the city, which was particularly badly hit following the storm.

The flights were on two Boeing B767s from Houston into the re-opened JFK and the transformers provided enough electricity to get around half a million homes back up to power.
