The Bombardier Global Express is an ultra long range, high speed and high capacity corporate jet aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace. The Global Express features an advanced wing with a large sweep angle of 35° and winglets for reduced drag, plus a T-tail with a swept anhedral tailplane. Rear mounted powerplants consist of 2 Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR710-A2-20 Turbofan engines producing 14,750 lbf (65.5 kN) each featuring FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine), a computer system that controls all aspects of engine performance. With a comfortable cruising speed of Mach 0.88 or 0.85, the Global Express is capable of using virtually any private, domestic and major hub airports. This jet has a range of 11,130km and a maximum altitude of 51,000ft, flying intercontinental ranges without refuelling (e.g. London-Los Angeles) or between two points in the world with only one stop.

The Global Express is the first clean-sheet designed ultra-long range business jet, receiving Canadian certification in July 1998, FAA certification in November 1988 and European certification in May 1999. Bombardier has since introduced several new variants for both business and military applications. The Global 5000, which entered service in April 2005, is a slightly shorter version of the original Global Express with range reduction to 9,630km for shorter missions. An ultra long-range Global Express 6000 (previously marketed as Global XRS) entered service in December 2005. Installation of a new Forward Fuel Tank in the wing/body fairing has now extended the range to 11,390km (6,150nm) enabling the jet to comfortably fly between Moscow and Los Angeles. The aircraft also has a new "zero flaps" take-off ability, which allows access to more "hot and high" airports. Additional two cabin windows, one located fore and the other aft have been incorporated into the design of the Global 6000.

The cabin offers spaciousness, privacy, luxury and comfort providing an ultimate business jet experience. Great attention to detail has been added with comfort-enhancing ergonomics and personal temperature zones for added comfort. Ultra Electronics active noise and vibration-cancellation system ensures quiet conditions in flight and a lower cabin pressure of 4,102ft to 5,674ft at altitudes of 43,000ft and 51,000ft respectively provide for a more refreshed feel on arrival. The Global Express features a customised cabin interior that can be configured with an office, stateroom or conference-style areas, and a baggage compartment that is fully accessible during flight. A new flexible lighting system using light-emitting diode (LED) technology provides more ambient cabin lighting. A feature exclusively on the Global 6000 includes a true stand up shower experience with up to 40mins shower time.

Bombardier has announced two new versions of the Global Business Jet Family, the Global 7000 and 8000 with entry into service in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Both sport new unparalleled levels of comfort and range capability, with faster connections and opening key routes such as LA-Sydney, Hong Kong-New York, and Mumbai-New York. Next-generation GE engines developed specifically for these aircraft set the new standard on efficiency, with their industry-leading low fuel burn and low emissions.
