Is your role what you expected it to be? More than what I expected. This is now a lifestyle, not a career. I never thought I would be someone that so many people relied on to get them to important events and places. No day is ever the same.
What do you wish you had been told about the role that you hadn’t? That it will make you cry. That it’s not 24/7/365... it’s 25/8/366.

How would you describe your role? My role as a Team Leader consists of running a team of four brokers who vary in experience from trainees to established team members. I keep track of the teams’ figures and KPIs whilst also mentoring them. I also work with my individual list of clients and ensure I reach my personal targets.
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? The many mini victories that are the direct result of hard work and the relationships you build within the company and externally with clients.

What do you wish you had been told about the role that you hadn’t? Sometime you do the impossible to win flight and still lose it.
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? Flying on cargo planes to places all over the world. There is nothing better than the view from an IL-76 F navigator window.

What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? Keep your head down and commit two solid years of hard work, they are the building blocks for your ACS career.
What’s the element of the role that you find the toughest? Meeting clients’ expectations. Over the years you build yourself a reputation, keeping it is the hardest part.

What do you wish you had been told about the role that you hadn’t? After your year of training, you‘re on your own and you have to be motivated to come in everyday and get on the phone. You choose who to call and which clients you want to approach.
What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? Work has to be the priority for at least the first two years. Understand that you are a trainee, listen to everything and say yes to every opportunity.

What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? If there is something specific you want to achieve, work hard and ACS will help you to achieve it, but you need to make sure management are aware of it so they can help.
What’s the best thing about working for ACS? The people, even if you have loads of work to get through and the tightest deadlines, the people I work with are always willing to stop what they’re doing to help.

What do you wish you had been told about the role that you hadn’t? Don’t be put off by all the technical aspects of the role – that will come with time especially with the hands on training. Being a great sales person is also about relationships.
What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? What you put into your first 18 months, really does set you up for your career at ACS. Hard work, being tenacious and being organised, really does pay off. Treat your 5050 enquiries like external clients – the better you are, the more chance your counterpart has in selling the flight, plus they’ll look after you the next time they have a flight in your region.

What do you wish you had been told about the role that you hadn’t?That sometimes even if you do your best to meet your clients expectations there’s some charters that won’t fly with you, you can’t lose your motivation.
Is your role what you expected it to be? It definitely passed my expectations, never thought aviation could be so interesting; every day is a different story, surely one of those life changing jobs.

What’s the element of the role that you find the toughest? The element of the job that I find to be the toughest, is also the element that I find the most enjoyable; that every charter is uniquely different and that each customer has their own specific needs. The service that we offer is most certainly not a ‘one size fits all’, so it is paramount that we consult with our clients in order to understand their individual needs. Ensuring that we tailor our service to match and deliver on each of their specific requests to exceed their expectations.
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? How varied it can be – in a day we could be working on a large-scale project for thousands of passengers for a large company incentive; with a heavy focus towards the on-board experience and ensuring each passenger has the same unique journey through the airport check-in process, through security and boarding the aircraft. Ensuring that we organize bespoke aircraft branding, a carefully designed catering menu and high service-levels to stay coherent and seamless with the theme of the event. The next moment there could be a natural disaster and we could receive a call to evacuate hundreds of people at the drop of a hat in as quick and efficient time-frame as possible.

What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? Your future lies in your own hands. ACS gives you all of the tools needed to succeed. If you work hard, the opportunity for growth and success are endless. You will get out what you put in, and then some!
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? Traveling and Private Jets aren’t the only perks! ACS is about being a part of a team, and I enjoy the relationships and friendships made that will last a lifetime.
FLIGHT REPRESENTATIVE MANAGER - NEW YORK
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? I enjoy coming to work and embracing the unexpected. Working for the Private Jets Department has its advantages, one of them is the ability to hop on to empty legs. Being here for 7 years now, I have been able to fly on a G-IV to Florida and Learjet to Chicago.
What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? The work you put in, is what you get out. If you work hard, keep your head down, and pay attention to detail, you will succeed. ACS is a family and always will have the best interest at heart.

Is your role what you expected it to be? I don’t think anyone really knows what to expect when they get into this role. The term ‘work hard, play hard’ really applies to the life a Private Jets Consultant at ACS. The culture is to work very hard, taking calls 24/7 and being expected to work out of hours but ACS culture is also to play just as hard; ACS puts together extravagant events for the employees and department team nights which brings you even closer to your colleagues. These people very quickly become like a second family.
What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? Make sure you keep your company phone ring tone on loud and near you at all times! Also, putting your phone on Power Save mode disables your alerts for email notifications, so DON’T do that :)
CARGO DIRECTOR - NEW YORK
What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? The same advice I was given when I first started. If you come in every day prepared to work hard and put in as much effort during the first 2-3 years, you will become a very successful broker and will build an excellent lifestyle for yourself and your family.
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? Every day there is something different to work on. One day you’ll have a request to move a sports car across the country and the next day you’ll get a request to move a live dolphin to another country!

What’s the best bit of advice you could give you a new starter? The best advice I could give to a new starter is to work harder than you ever have before because it will pay off in the long run and it will allow you to enjoy all the perks of the job!
What’s the part of the role you enjoy the most? Personally, I enjoy the mandatory two private jet rides a year. Not only do I get to speak more intelligently with my clients about the aircraft but I get to ride on a private jet! Who wouldn’t love that?!
