BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

Bakersfield Municipal Airport is a city-owned public-use airport which stands only a few miles from the central business district of Bakersfield. It its typically used for general aviation purposes. During World War II it was employed by the US Army Air Forces Air Transport Command as a sub-base of Hammer Field. The airport covers an area of around 253 acres and has a single runway from which it runs around 68 flights per day with a total of 25 000 counted in 2009.
