Elko Regional Airport was formerly known as Elko Municipal Airport, and is located about just over one mile west of down town Elko, in Elko County, Nevada. The airport was named J.C. Harris Field in 1975 in honour of Jess C. Harris, a sheriff from Elko known as "The Flying Sheriff". It is a large airport covering 700 acres. For the year ending in August 2007, the airport had an average of 45 aircraft operations a day.
