It is located 12 miles east of Cleveland, and has been owned and operated by Geauga County since 1968. The airport serves as the areas base of operations for the University Hospitals' MedEvac helicopter, and is also the home of The Cleveland Soaring Society glider club. The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 5 is also based here.
