Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is a major airport in the U.S. state of Alaska, located four nautical miles southwest of downtown Anchorage. The facility is named in honor of former U.S. Senator Ted Stevens and is categorized as a primary commercial service airport. It is a large facility, covering an area of 4,608 acres and has three runways available which are covered in asphalt and concrete.
It is very busy airport and in 2011 reported 289,472 aircraft operations, running an average of 793 flights per day. A shuttle bus runs approximately every 15 minutes between the North and South terminals.
