Valley International Airport, also known as Rio Grande Valley International Airport, is a city owned airport three miles northeast of Harlingen, in Cameron County, Texas. It is the second busiest airport in the Rio Grande Valley by passenger count. At 2,428 acres it is a large facility and has three asphalt runways available. For the year of 2011 it recorded a total of 43,731 aircraft operations at an average of 119 flights per day. It is home to Cameron County's first Starbucks, located in the main terminal prior to the security check-point.
