Having been first activated in March 1950, the Vicksburg Municipal Airport has been in operation for over 60 years. The facility is open to the public and is publicly owned by the City of Vicksburg in Warren County, Mississippi. It is a general aviation airport which is situated 7 miles south west of the town. During the 12 month period which ended on 9 April 2015 the airport handled an average of 46 aviation operations per week. 5% of those operations were for military purposes.
