The city of Sunrise is found within Broward County, in the state of Florida. The city was originally set to be named Sunset, but the name was not favourable among residents as it was not attractive to the retirees that the city was attempting to lure.

One of the main attractions used to lure potential residents to the area was the World Famous Upside-Down House, while nowadays it hosts a number of festivals - including Earth Day, Cultural Festival and Harvest Festival.
